Welcome...
October 2015:
It is with great sadness that the SYG Team must announce the production cancellation for STAND YOUR GROUND. After more than a year of trying to raise funds to shoot the short, we have proven to be unsuccessful. On a brighter note, our writer, Joel P.E. King, is currently working on a Feature Film script (of similar concept), that has caught the eye of several major independent producers. Please stay tuned for future updates regarding our continued journey to spotlight this very important social issue!

August 2014:
I am currently in pre-production on my short film STAND YOUR GROUND.
The film will be shot in Los Angeles, CA and was written by Joel P.E. King. Kendra C. Johnson is the film's Director & Executive Producer.
Chilling, relevant, and revealing describes STAND YOUR GROUND, a timely piece that examines cultural biases and family values. STAND YOUR GROUND mirrors the recent tragedies of alleged hate crimes and violence that have affected a nation, leaving us with jilted questions of “What if’s…” What if it was my child? What if the child was of a different race? What if it was the economic status of the home? What if it was the neighborhood?
Even through a sudden tragic death of a young teenage son, we learn through his mother, Patricia, that forgiveness of self and others closes the wound, but respect, love and faith heals it.
STAND YOUR GROUND is a drama that mimics perspectives of the social injustice and race relations that we so heavily speak. The American dream soon becomes Patricia's worse nightmare when travesty met tragedy, leaving only her hopes left to bury. Understanding the need to bring awareness to the human condition of hate and prejudices, her fight was made stronger through the spirit of a child that shook the world and changed the lives of many forever.
